I owe too much money

I have unsecured debt with Wells Fargo of $12,000. I'm 77 years old and am insolvent. I offered to settle for $2,000. Is this reasonable? I only get soc sec and a pension. My home was foreclosed upon. I now rent a house. My car is 15 years old and has 285,000 miles. (I owe $442/mo on the car and $500/mo alimony which I'm paying.

Wait...you are paying $442 a month a 15 year old vehicle?? Personally I would suggest letting them repo it and then start taking taxi's. Then file bankrtupcy on any deficency balance and the WF $12000.

that sounds like a plan to me.use the 2,000.00 to file CH7.you save the 442.00 per month and the 12,000.00 to WF.seriously look into it.
