LVNV has put a lien on my house for an old montgomery ward account from like 10 years ago. Is there any way I can still negotiate with LVNV (Resurgeant) to get the lien taken off or do I need to talk to the attorney. The reason why I ask is because the lien showing up on my title that was filed by an attorney is higher than what LVNV is reporting on my credit. So it seams that it would be cheaper to just pay LVNV but then I dont know if they will be able to remove the lien from my house. Which is my greatest concern.

If u got a lien on ur home then u must have a judgement against u, right? The only way to get that off is to pay them and satisfy the judgment. Sometimes they will take less than u owe. Also the reason the amt is higher is probably cuz of the atty fees and filing fees to get said judgement.
Do u have a judgement on ur credit report?
