One of my IPDL's was sent to collections with a company called icollectdebt.net. Has anyone ever heard of this company. The loan was originally through CMG llc. They just sent me an e-mail notifying me about going to collections. I tried to send them a reply to the e-mail address customerservice @ icollectdebt.net but that address isn't accepting my mail, just keep getting an undeliverable message from mailerdaemon. Anybody know an alternate e-mail address?

I put a stop on 4 of my payday loans as I realized they were illegal in the state of New York, where I live, and they had MORE than collected the original loan amount on fees. I won't go into it, but i've paid THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS on fees.

Anyways, iCollect also just sent me 4 e-mails for all 4 loans today.

I wrote a C& D letter and my bank sent the ACH processor on my behalf. My bank closed my account for me and stopped all 4 refinance payments.

SO what happens now with iCollect? Do they call me on the phone and harass me or what?

I saw some threads on AIS as well, most in conjunction with icollect.

The will try to call you on the phone, if they have your work number they will try you there as well, they will also send you emails. Being that PDL's are prohibited in NY, I would send them a debt validation letter, chances are they won't be able to validate. I did that to the one company that sent me a letter, all they sent back to me was a copy of my contract with some info highlighted...the CT dept of finance stepped in and I haven't heard from them since...

Honestly its hard to say, if you read some of the threads you will see different stories from everyone. I think I was lucky in the respect that the companies only called me at work a few times and because I have a direct line I was able to let it go to voicemail. They didn't contact any of my references and after a few months, most of the calls stopped...I get an occassional call from the scam collectors, but other than that there is nothing.

Well I have one loan that went to icollect, I called the number provided and stated I want to make arrangements(this was before I knew of the great forum and found out all my loans were not legal in illinois) I was told that they do not have my file yet and could not set up any arrangements. 2 weeks later, PDM called me. So you may get a call from those clowns soon.

I'm you actually want to pay your debts. I actually make web sites and there are valid debt collection agencies out there that can help you. Some agencies are registered in one state but end up geting clients from other lenders. That is probably what happened. Always check with the original lender and find out who is currently handling your loan and what your balance is. The dollar does depreciate so after a while you will actually owe less than you thought. Good luck!
