Isn't it a violation of Idaho collection laws?

A debt collection agency contacted me regarding 2 credit cards. I have set up a payment plan with them. Last month, I made my first payment. But the collection agency applied the payment to the second debt with high interest. I told them to apply the payment to the first debt. Still, they didn't listen to me. Is it legal in Idaho?

Follow up your call by sending a mail (with Return Receipt Request) to the collection agency. Also send a copy to the credit bureaus.
You can contact a debt settlement firm, who can negotiate with the debt collection agency on your behalf.
Also check out Idaho’s debt collection laws.

Did the debt collection agency give you a written payment plan? It will be hard for you to deal with the debt collection agency without having a written payment plan. What is the name of the collection agency? Don't make further payments unless you get a payment plan.
