Ireceived a call from IDT Carmel and they were rude and threatening. First of all they are calling my son's home where I have never lived - how they got his number I have no clue except that he shares my last name. I call IDT Carmel gave them my new number and asked them not to call my son's home again. I also told them Idid not owe the debt they were trying to collect ($163+) and I was not going to pay it. THey proceeded to tell me that they would keep calling my son's home and that legal action would follow. Where do these people get off thinking they can bully innocent people around!

Fist of all, once they have your contact info, they have no reason to call your son. That would be violation #1. Second, since they have now played the "legal action" card, they now need to file suit. If they don't, violation #2. If possible, I would start recording any further calls. If your son receives any more calls, he should record as well. Hve they sent you anything in writing concerning the alleged debt?
