I need to write a letter to improve my credit report. I need to get the debt collector and the original creditor to make changes to mark my record as “Paid in Full.” I guess I need to have the collector to remove the negatives and the original credit to mark as “Paid in Full.” However, I do not know if I write just one letter making my request to the collector or write to both the collector and creditor separately.
I have been looking at the sample letters at debtconsolidationcare.com I do not see a letter that covers both. Can someone help me on choosing the correct letters?

Ok I assume that you have paid the collection agency? They do not have to remove the listing, just update it to reflect a paid status.

You write a letter to the credit reporting agencies and let them know that the accounts are reporting incorrectly in that they were paid.

If they verify it without changing the pay status you can send them another letter asking for who they verified the account with then you send them (whoever verified with the CRAs) an intent to sue letter for verifying incorrect info.

Either it will be removed completely or it will be fixed..if not, you can sue them for an easy, slam dunk win and a cool $1000 in your pocket.

Thanks for responding. No, I have not paid them off yet. I figured if I paid first they would have no reason to make those changes. I wanted to send them a letter asking them if I paid the bill in full would they agree to make the changes to my credit record. My goal is to get the collector to remove all negative marks and get the original to mark as paid as agreed. Is there a sample letter on this? How I get both the original creditor and the collector to agree in writing. Do I write to both or do I have to write one letter...?
