Couldn't that be performed with a soft inquiry as I have seen other CA's on my CR do? The hard inquiries negativly impact a persons FICO score and remain for 2 years.

I'm sure they could have. CA's generaly get the CBR reports to find you, your assets, and to get you to notice their inqury. I don't think a soft inquiry gets the asset results just the trade lines that say if they are open or not, address and # history.

Last year I renewed my company's agreement with Transunion, had to fill out about 5-page info about my company, and I actually had to write a little essay on why I need to pull credit report on my customers. Then Transunion renewed my account.
The way my account is setup through Transunion, every single bureau I pull on a customer/consumer will always be a hard pull. I do not have the option of pulling soft inquiries.
Maybe the same situation holds true for this CA...
