recently, i have been getting calls from a collection agency saying that i owe 20,000 dollar on a credit account originating over 20 years ago. how do i get them to stop calling me. this debt is too old, they won't tell me what it is for, they only say that 99 percent of it is interest. my credit rating at this time is well in the 700's. any suggestions

Welcome to the Community :D I had a similiar experience on a medical bill that was over 10 years old. The collector herself told me to write a cease and desist letter to them telling them it was out of the SOL(Statutes of Limitations), and not to contact me again--it worked, after years of them selling it over and over the calls and letters stopped.

Feel free to ask questions and to post!..KAren
