I received a phone call from a man stating his name is Dan Kelley and he was from a firm called Jackson, Greenberg, and assoc. He was calling in regards to a loan that I had taken out from Vista Holdings (which is true, I did take a loan from them. I stopped payments because I then researched the company and found nothing but that they scam you?). So, upon researching his law firm, I cannot find anything. When I search the number, nothing. He said that if I set up payments, we can settle out of court. He said that there has been a claim filed against me, and something about Livingston county, which is the county I live in.
I've never been in trouble. I've never had to go to court, so I've been making payments.. Should I investigate a little further?

What state do you live in???

It comes up Chicago. The man keeps changing his story. I think it's crap

He said something like a claim was filed by Livingston county against me and when I pay the full amount it will be dropped? I'm not sure what to do. I've been making payments? Should I stop? Like I said. I've never been in trouble with the law.

You have been scammed!

You need to stop making payments! You have been scammed! I got a call from the same law firm but a guy named Mike CArter upon googling the phone number I found out it is a scam! YOu should have researched further there are numerous complaints on this scam! I too had a loan out that I didn't pay for and so I thought it was real but for one, they don't call and tell you they are trying to serve you because you could keep avoiding them right! Also, loan agencies don't have lawyers call you when they try to get you to settle they send you notices and eventually you end up in collections they don' take you to court in your hometown! I hope you haven't paid them too much!
