A person by the name of Mary Jennings of Jennings, Roberts and Associates (her words exactly), left a message that there was an urgent legal matter with them that required my immediate attention and that i or my attorney should return her call at the same number. I called and amazingly enough, Ms. Jennings was in a "meetings with the attorney's" and the lady answering the phone would be able to help me. When when I asked what this was about she stated that it was regarding a payday loan with some company that I never heard of, that I hadn't paid and when I expressed that she became extremely rude and short with me and began asking questions about where I bank. When I told her that I wouldn't be answering any more questions but had some of my own, she said she will just document my refusal to work with the service and since it is pretrial they would just go ahead and file the hearing. I can't find a single thing about this Jennings, Roberts and Associates or any Mary Jennings. I had payday loans years back but took the advice given here and as far as I am aware have settled each one. Any ideas folks?

I'm getting the same call as of today. They were asking me about where I used to bank, and used to work. I had payday loans at one time, but now this company is just picking up the phone and hanging up now that I have spoken with them.

Ask them to send you documents to prove that you owe the balance amount. In the meanwhile, have your documents of pdls ready, so that you can produce them if required.

Yeah, the problem is that they just hang up on me now when I call. When I first spoke to the lady I had told her that I had never received any notifications from the company she was talking about and she hung up before I could ask her to send me the information. This seems like a collections agency that is using poor practice and scare tactics. I can't find anything about this group on the web either.

Thank you for this. I called my bank to flag the account with this information just in case. I just received the same call and when I kept saying no, she eventually hung up on me.

I have been getting these for a week at least two to three times a day. I too looked up for Jennings, Roberts and Associates. Nothing found.

I wouldn't be too concerned about it. If you can't sleep at night check your credit report or county clerks office to see if there is a law suit filed against you. If you believe it is a scam just give them the name and number of your attorney generals or state attorneys office and I bet the calls will stop.

I have been receiving calls from this number every morning. I called just now and told them to immediately remove my number from their call list. They hung up on me. I called back and said I think we were disconnected. I am calling to have my number removed from their call list. She said they had no record of my phone number. This is a scam. Do NOT give them any identifying information. Require them to send all information to you via mail.

I get was receiving several calls a day from Mary Jennings. I have filed complaints with a number of gov't agencies. I found after I called them repeatedly asking for their physical address so add to the forms I was filling about to complain about them, they stopped calling. You should at the very least contact the FCC and your attorney generals office.

They were calling me and said they were going to have me arrested if I didn't pay. Funny thing is the company I supposedly owed, I had never done business with... it's a scam.

I received a robo-call from "Jennings, Roberts, & Assoc." today. The caller's voice is the exact same voice as the one from numerous other calls I have received from different Texas numbers, all identifying themselves as representatives from at least three different companies, with the same threat about legal action about an outstanding case. At no point did she mention the name of the person the call was actually intended for.

Now it is Susanna Jennings with a 817-210-6249 phone number. Same supposed law firm, same story, same scam. They do this every year around tax time. Just ignore them or call back and ask for a physical address and proof of debt owed with a 30 day required documentation date. Otherwise, take you off their calling list...

I feel like a fool. I believed them and gave them my debit card number and they took $500. An expensive lesson learned. Please! If you get a call from Kendra from PTI Consultants don't fall for it. I cannot get my money back but I will file with the FTC.

It's a golden rule that you should never give your credit card number or debit card over phone. You have given your debit card number and paid a heavy price. Even if you get a call from the IRS, don't pay a penny over phone. Contact the IRS in mail.

I have having the same issue only the lady is identifying herself as Andrea Jennings. I was transferred to 2 other people. The more I try to explain that I did not take out a payday loan, the more they try to get me to agree to the settlement amount. Why would I pay for a loan I didn't take out? The next move was to tell me that I could be charged with a felony. I opted to dispute it and told them I would rather go before settle this before a judge. The call ended with me being informed that an attorney would contact me. After reading the responses, I believe they'll drop their pursuit as I am willing to face them in court & the shady, unlawful practices (according to the Fair Debt Reporting Act) will be exposed.
