I got a call from a law office that bought my account and they want me to pay the balance in full right away. When I told them I couldn't they told me to ask to borrow the money or go to Citifinancial to get the money. Ok, so now take out another loan because I can afford to pay them and put my credit in the toilet a bit more. I live in PA, can they sue me and if they can what will happen???????

On the law office of Joe Pezzuto Where Compliance Matters letter, is not true that the customer service representatives are well train for 2 weeks to treat

Keep in mind the debtor is NOT the customer....the customer is the party you placed the account and is damaged. It is not a function of a collection agency or law office to provide YOU customer service.

I live in CA and I have credit carma. This Pezzuto firm has run hard inquires on me 3 times in the last week-can they do that? I have been unemployed for over 4 years and was selling my personal items just to pay the bills but had to stop as I have nothing left. I had to stop paying my cc bills.

Best thing to do-CHANGE your phone number to an unlisted one! Then they cannot call. That is what I did.

Also in the state of CA if the debt is under $7500, no Attorney can touch it-it is small clims and a collection rep would have to appear and they would have to serve you and you can always tell the person usually the mailman that you will not sign for the letter.

You should NEVER agree to pay a collection agency as it does start the SOL all over again-they have 4 years to file suit.

And for me since I do not work, they can get nothing from me.

And I am 50 years old. I know what tricks they try and pull. Report them to the BBB and the FTC. NEVER call them. If you do, you can dial *67 before you call so your number does not show up on their caller id.

And they CANNOT freeze your bank account. They have to file a judgement, serve you and then see what the judge says. They cannot take all your money.

If I get a letter in the mail, I just return it and they stop. I had one agency once that bought my account from another agency and tried to collect it-it ws over 10 years old! These people are scum!

They have rules they have to abide to and they cannot call you during certain hours, call you names or threaten you in any way. YEs THEY have to give you an amount of Customer Service. Do you think yelling at someone is going to get them to pay you? You can't catch flies with vinegar.
