I got a message yesterday to call Joseph Mann and Creed. After reading about them on here, it appears they have a pretty unscrupulous operation. I also read they collect primarily for internet gambling debts? I have never gambled online in my life. So, it cannot be for that. I have worked very hard to get my credit cleaned up so not sure what else I have out there if anything. There may be a couple of very old debts from 7 or 8 years ago. Do I even call them back? I read on here that when you call them back, they get very nasty. Advice??

the only reason you call them is to demand a collection letter.that's it.do not engage them further.you are right as they can be nasty.that's why you give them the demand for a letter.then wait, and don't talk to them further.

Gosh, I just hate to have to call them as I know it is going to be hard just to demand the letter and then hang up. They are going to have to say a bunch of nasty stuff before I can get off the phone.

here is my question to you.what was contained in the message?if the tone was nasty then no don't call.it's just you should always speak to a place once, and that's to demand something in writing.if they even try to cope an attitude.hang up.try this if you call.

i don't deal over the phone.i need something in writing first.

then see.if they get upidty on you hang up.

No. The message was actually a recording ... one of those that asked for me and then if it is not me, do not listen, etc. Then it leaves a phone number and reference number at the end.
