Kendrick & Associates Statue of Limitations

Received a call today at work from a Janice Hall who works for Kendrick & Associates (877) 333-0713 which is some type of fact finder for Atlas Mediations. Actually, the call was made by someone else, but once I picked up, I was transferred to Janice. I was told that I owed an online payday loan from July 13, 2006. Janice told me that she was doing preliminary work at was about ready to fax a letter to my HR guy for job verification and send "paperwork" to Orange County. I told her I didn't know what she was talking about and that any payday loans I may have had back in 2006 had been paid. I needed proof. Janice said she would send info to an email address she had on file and that I had until Monday to get back to her. I have lived in California my whole life and IMO the statue of limitations (4 years) should be over. Is this correct?

Ignore, its a scam. If they call again, tell them by law they have 5 days to send you a dunning letter about the debt and then/IF you get that then you send a DV letter to them. If they refuse or start getting nasty then you have definitive proof its a scam.

Yeah, I also presume it's a scam. I couldn't find any info on this so-called CA. Ask them to validate the debt.

If you're sure that you don't owe the debt then send them a Cease and Desist letter which will bar them from contacting you again for the debt.
