How should I respond to a threat of legal action concerning late credit card payment

The party making the legal threat is the original creditor. I am 60 days behind and they have been on me since day one. I am trying to talk with them, but my situation is not going to change immediately.

If you are 60 days behind, have you tried to talk with them about a hardship program? When I had that happen with several of mine, I told them that I wanted to get them paid off, but simple couldn't because of the payment amount, fees, interest, etc. They put me on a payment plan, some with no interest, others lowered it drastically until I paid them off. Trouble is, if you miss a payment or late, it's all done.

I had to call a whole lot of times until I got someone that would work with me..Let us know what happens..karen
