I have read a lot of complaints about 1st irs on here. Lawal and associates and a few other names they go by.

They have been harassing me for years!! It stopped for almost a year when I filed complaints with AG and FTC. Now it has started back. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they still will not provide any documentation of any debt they claim to be collecting on. Like all the other posts I have read they call and curse me out, threaten me with jail if I do not wire money by two pm that day, they call people I know and say they are the Internal Revenue Service and are looking for me.

The responses from them to the BBB accuse me of slander and defamation. They deny everything and keep giving me a number to call. I will not call anymore, all they do is call me names and say I will be arrested. I do not even know who they are trying to collect for as they have told me they don't have to give me proof of anything. I even said in my BBB complaint that I wanted something in the mail and an address so I could send them a request to validate the debt. The BBB report shows all address's known are not valid. They only respond by saying all calls are recorded and they investigated and I am a liar. The responses they sent are written very badly. Really really bad.

I have already filed another report with the FTC and am mailing them all the BBB responses from them and will do the same with the AG. Of course the last response from them said they are looking forward to showing both agencies proof I have a debt. The problem is they have no address for either agency to send anything to.

I am seriously considering taking legal action such a filing suit. Has anyone ever done this??? How do you file a lawsuit when there is no address, the numbers they use must be some kind of auto dialer. I have read other complaints about them on here and several websites and no one can locate them!! I have already had to have one phone number changed because of the calls every five minutes just to tie up my line.

I am not sure how my information is being passed around but I am being contacted by ca's and have several things on my credit report. I have tried disputing with the credit agencies over afni reporting on a debt that is owned by another company. The same debt shows twice and I can't get it removed. I think I need legal help. Advice?????

You should take legal action against this company. It is high time. I think you should contact an attorney. He may help you deal with the case. I have a suspicion that it is a scam.

As far as Afni is concerned, you can dispute the account status with the credit bureaus. You can use the following sample letter for this purpose:
