leading edge recovery solutions has a hold of a credit card account and is trying to get me to pay the whole $2,000 balance. In January I paid them $700 and have been paying $50 each month since then..... Now they want the whole balance...Can they do this? Can they come after me for only $2000? will I be sued? wages garnished? etc?

Yes, they can definitely sue you and bring judgment against you to garnish your wage in order to recover the entire debt. Paying off the minimum amount every month is only a benefit offered by the cc companies for an interest payment, if you are not in a position to pay off the entire debt within the interest free due date.

Hi indebt,

It's probably best not to get ahead of yourself. Just keep making your normal monthly payments as usual. Document everything. Even *if* they decide to take you to court, you can show the judge that you have been making payments regularly like a responsible citizen. Don't let these people intimidate you, they feed on that. If they call you and you speak to them, just let them know - politely but firmly - that you are making the payments that you can afford and it is all you can do and have a nice day!
