Does anyone know of any service out there for consumers (someone to talk to) who need/want to get answers regarding legal actions taken by CA's and what kind of actions can be taken against against them. There is only one lawyer in my area (over an hour away) who handles this kind of thing and believe me he's busy! I have so many questions and can't figure out the answers by myself. All suggestions are appreciated.

I think I need to file a motion to vacate a default judment. I haven't recieved anything in the mail informing me of this default judgement I just happend to check with the county court and they told me default judgement for the full amount to the plaintiff. The collection attorny (for palisades) told me that since I settled the matter in full with them (they even gave me a letter stating the account has been settled in full) that he was going to dismiss the case with the court and that i did not need to show up in court or answer the summons.
I called the CA lawyer and He basically said, "ya ya okay I'll take care of it" basically brushed me off and I know he's lying. My credit report also says I owe the remaining balace.

I realize my mistake now. Being lied to by attorny's is acceptable means of doing business for them. I was wondering how to go about trying to fix my naive mistakes. Maybe it's not even possible?
