I took out a pay day loan for $1000 over the internet. I bet the money on Duke against WV thinking I would win, but I lost. So now I can't pay this and I am going to have to close my bank account. Can they do anything to me?

Please post the name of the company and the state you live in.

The majority of us here do not advocate taking out a payday loan and not paying at least the principal back. You borrowed the money in good faith, used it, and should repay it. However, it is a personal choice whether you do that or not - but if the company is licensed to do business in your state, they could quite possibly pursue you legally for repayment. This could include everything from a judgement against you (bad news for your credit score) to garnishment of your wages.

Again, whether you repay or not is a personal choice - but please be aware there may be serious consequences if you choose not to repay a loan taken from a licensed lender.
