If they refuse to validate and continue to collect,that is one violation.If you send c&d,it will be a violation every time they attempt to collect.Gather up your violations and dump them in an attorneys lap.

So, this is going to be a legal matter then?

It becoming a legal matter depends on them.They will not be able to sue you as most every post about them states they don't follow the collection laws. If they don't follow the law it could be a legal matter when you bring suit against them. If you have not already done so,file complaints here:

Has anyone dealt with them before? Do you know what companies they collect for? I thought that it was for MTE as they have a Jacksonville address, but it's not.

Do a board search in the google box at the top of forum page.There are literally 100's of posts on this firm.

Well, I read all of that, and now I'm scared. It doesn't show like anyone has had success in dealing with them!

So, I sent my cease and desist letter out to these people Friday, and they called me today, and left a message on my work voicemail: "There has been a decision made today by the firm with your name on it. Please contact me as soon as possible." Am I going to jail or something or getting sued? I did sent the debt validation letter and a cease and desist order. HELP!!

I filed a complaint with the BBB, the FTC, the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, and I am getting help to submit a compliant with the Florida Department of Financial services. Should I do anything else?

I have already given you the necessary tools.If they ignore the validation or c&d letter once received,then it will be time to involve a consumer attorney at that point so you can gather evidence to file suit for fdcpa violations.Click on the first link in my signature and review the Fdcpa statute. It will tell you what they can and cannot do legally.
