What to do if they have file to collect against me in small claims court, but the SOL has expired for the State of California
Have you recieved proof they filed?
Many collection agencies illegally say they filed a claim when they didn't to scare you. If it is beyond the SOL then they can't do anything. Many collection agencies search for old debts and then use scare tactics to get money from you. You are authorized to receive your credit reports free once a year now. Get them and look to see if there is any unauthorized searches in them. You can also find out if there are things in your credit report that should not be there.
