can someone give me pointers on how to word a letter to a debt attorney about paying a cc? The problem I am having is waiting for a cash settlement on an annuity to pay these people but I am sure they are wanting money now. I simply am stone broke now and cannot pay anything until we get this money. I have already answered the civil summons and after they have validated the debt, have asked for more time to review the account. I do not want to incriminate my self as owing this money yet I want them to back off until we receive teh funds. I would like to settle with them instead of paying the full amount they want because I am not sure how much we can get from the annuity. A consumer debt attorney suggested I either pay the full amount or offer a settlement. (they have tacked on some fees that have made it double what I owe)

Hi thanks. I tried finding a letter to address to an attorney, but the letters mainly pertain to credit collectors. I just don't want to screw up and send something incorrectly to them. I am sure they are not going to wait and will try garnishment or something else in order to get this money. It is all very depressing.
