When one sends a "Cease and Desist" letter, will it hasten a decision by the CA to turn a file over to an Attorney to file suit?

Also:
I failed to send a validation letter within the 30 day period after I received the first correspondence from the CA.
Is it too late to send one at this time?

If the CA turns my file over to an Attorney, upon notice from the Attorney, am I within my rights to request validation at that time?

The federal laws mention that when a collector gives you the written information about your debt, you have 30 days to dispute any incorrect item. If you don't respond to their letter within 30 days, they will assume the information provided is correct and you are liable to pay the account. The CA or the attorney won't honor your request to validate the debt during that period.

I have only received correspondence from the CA advising me that my account has been turned over to them for collection -and of course, the amount of the debt.

I haven't received an itemized statement in order to dispute an item.

However, it has been over 30-days since I received the correspondence.
