Of course we ALL deal with CA's in SOME way. Where can I find out which CA's are licensed and which ones aren't? Do they ahve to SPECIFICALLY have to be licensed in the state where you reside?

Maybe go to your state's Secretary of State website. In some states, an agency doesn't have to be licensed -- but they must post a surety bond with the state Secretary of State. If they haven't posted this bond, you might sue them, in Texas for example, in the amount up to the sum of the surety bond ($10,000).
