First we are trying to refinance our home, we became aware from our title company that there is an outstanding BILL that has to be taken care of first, I was confused because I was thinking someone made a mistake, or identity fraud, we ALWAYS pay ALL our bills and ON TIME!!!!!!!! But I said It was not on our credit report, because we had already looked at them, so where is this coming from because The person handling the account said it was placed on our Title... a Lien against our home, I was like how in the world?: and Why in the world!!!
Well come to find out I found out the name of the company that the bill was coming from, and so I called them they said that they had sent it to a Collector / Lawyer firm, They did say that they are not sure why there is a lien against OUR home because they do have two *Names that ARE EXACTLY the SAME* but that our Bills were all PAID in FULL!!!! and that The other name which is the same, is not, Two different addresses, and that is the one that was sent to the lawyers office to collect, So I then called the Lawyers office and this is what I was told... That they have "not" placed a lien on our home, and that they need proof that we are who we say we are, by sending a copy of drivers license, That our Title Company has made a mistake, Ok how can my TItle Company have made a Mistake????? it is a LIEN against MY PROPERTY, when they PULLED the TITLE from the COURTHOUSE that is what they found was the LIEN placed on the property??!!! How is that the TITLE company made a mistake?? I am soooo CONFUSED!!!!!!!! (CONFUZZLED LOL) Please can someone explain this thank you!!!!!!!!

Wow, what a crazy situation! You should get a copy of this lien and send it to the company with a letter explaining that you called to find out why a lien is placed and they informed you that no lien was placed. So you are sending a copy of the lien.

Give them 10 days to fix the problem, or that you will bring suit against them for illegally placing a lien on your property, causing you undue embarrassment and financial difficulties.
