Can a lien be placed on your property without your knowledge?
Long story ... short
civile judgement, owe money, paying scheduled payments per court order (not child support). 4 years later discover lien on mortgage while attempting to refinance.
Was this explained to husband in court procedings???

Dont believe it has to be stipulated in any order. Property leins like garnishments and bank levies are simply remedies to enforce a judgment. None of this is explained in court to my knowledge.

You're right, it doesnt have to be stipulated in the order, but it often can be. But i would agree that once the judgement is entered you probably have little to no recourse.
