hello,

Light house recovery just called my work. They are wanting to find a fax number that they can send an employment validation letter to. I asked who for and they said "Adam". I said that we do not have an Adam that works here. She said, well I need that in writing, so can you just give me a fax number please? I gave her the fax number. She said, while I have you on the phone, I was also wanting validation for you, so I am going to send that as well and she hung up.

I live in Texas. I did borrow $300 from a company a while back. They took money out of my account $150. I had called them and told them that because of the holiday, I would not be paid on my normal pay day and that it would be the following Monday. They took it out anyway and sent me into overdraft and cause several items to go back. Screwed up my account. So I called them back and said that they screwed up my account and they said that I didn't ever tell them that I wasn't getting paid on my pay day, that I said I may not get paid on that day and that I'd call them back and let them know. I told them that was not the conversation that we had and she knew it. So I revoked their right to withdraw from my account.

They haven't faxed anything yet. That was almost an hour ago.

My questions are -

1 - what is my next step? I don't want them to keep bothering me at work, or calling my boss or HR.
2- I don't see that I owe them anything else, since the overdraft and fees that incurred on my account were almost $800.
3 - They lied to me on the phone about who they were with and who they were looking for...is that a violation?
4 - How do I get them to stop calling me on the phone at work?
5- Any help...

This is the first call that I know of. I don't even know who in HR to contact. I don't know how they would know who to contact. They can't contact my boss directly without going through me, because they don't have his direct phone number. I am freaking out now. Where would I get a Wage Assignment Revocation letter to send?

Dear Sir or Madam,

I hereby revoke your right to use any wage assignment I may or may not have signed with you. You no longer have my permission to use this wage assignment. I am also revoking your right to debit any and all of my personal accounts per the EFTA, regulation E, which is a federal law. If you fail to abide by my wishes, there will be consequences to your actions as I am sure you are aware. I have sent a copy of this to my employer and my financial institution, therefore any wage assignment or debit request or made by your company will be denied.

Sincerely,
Your signature

thanks so much. I appreciate it. I spoke to the EAP lawyer here at work and he basically said that the most they can do is sue me...and he believes they will. But he said that if I tried to work out a payment plan with them and they didn't take it, then I don't have a choice but to let them sue me, that I can't force them to take it.

Thanks for your help. I do feel somewhat better now.
