Garnishments and Falsehoods

LVNV Is about to garnish my wages. I've never been served, which the email that I received from them states I have. It also has my personal information wrong, They have me at an address I have never lived at. What can I do? Like many others here I can barely afford to eat and the money is going to start coming out of my check less than one week after I heard about it.

Are you talking about a garnishment or a wage assignment? Only a court can order a garnishment, after receiving a judgment against you. Did this go to court and you weren't aware of it? You need to call the court and find out as much information as you can.

if they have you at a wrong adress you may have not recieved the summons, but then again i recieved a certified letter that i was required to sign. I would check to be sure that there really is judgement against you as nascar had mentioned.
