I see they are based out of Tampa, FL and I used to live in FL till 2008 but then I moved to GA, and now I am in Ohio.
My question is can they practice law in Ohio? I search and googled for the past 2 hours and all I find is them practicing law in FL.
Another question then is this: If they can't practice law in my state of OH, then what should I do next?

No, they can't. Thats what I know. Collectors can contact your parents only when they have been unable to contact you. You can directly contact with this CA and resolve the issue. Ask them to send a debt validation letter to you before paying any money to them.

Unless they are taking legal representational actions limited to attornies, they are no different than any other debt collector when they contact you regarding the collection of a debt.
Acting as a debt collector for actions taken under the FDCPA doesnt require bar membership, and subjects them to the same FDCPA debt collection limitations as any other debt collector.

I most certainly cannot give legal advice but I can pose a question to you. Why would you look to avoid it in the first place? Secondly, outsourcing substantive legal work to an Ohio attorney is very common. As opposed to making this a battle over how legally a collection agent is performing, why not feel good about attending to your obligation in the first place by paying it?
There is a wrong here, but it does not appear to be the collection agent's doing.

#4-sounds like you work for JDB's. Anyone who sends you a collection notice is entitled to validation!! If your legit it wont bother your company in the least to validate according to the law. TO many companies out there scamming. No one avoid debts, just want to make sure they are legally collecting seeing most out there are NOT!
