Marshal's Notice of Execution. Can't pay. Help!
Date: Thu, 08/27/2009 - 08:06
hi...i received a marshal's notice of execution, (nyc) stating that a judgement has been entered against me in a very old debt under 10k. (nearly 7 years ago, was when i stopped paying due to lack of work). so it's a third party company called pinnacle credit. i don't have any income, no property of value, nothing to settle this very old debt. i live with my boyfriend. but i am not on the lease. can they take HIS things? this is my concern. i don't want anyone else to be affected. i have nothing in my bank account right now and when i get money i will need to pay the IRS first.
also, isn't there are statute of limitations on old debts? i thought it was 7 years from the time the debtor last paid and i know that time is here or approaching very soon.
thanks for any advice out there!
