I sent MCM a verification of debt letter via certified mail for a debt they claim I owe. I do not know what this debt is. Their response was a letter to me stating I did not provide sufficient info to investigate. They say I have to provide documentation for something such as: paid in full or acct settled, fraud or identity theft or balance discrepancy. I don’t know what this debt is!! Aren’t they required to provide me info? In addition the day after their response I rec’d a letter from Bowman, Heintz, Boscia & Vician stating my indebtedness to Midland Funding LLC for the same amount. I’m assuming MCM and Midland are one in the same. What is going on? Do I send another debt verification letter back to MCM and one to Bowman?

From what I have read, there is a difference in Verification and Validation. I would send Midland and Bowman, Sue'em and Steal'in a request for Debt Validation via Certified Mail Return Receipt. When they sue you (and they probably will), it will be useful to show you tried to get the information and also in any FDCPA viloation counterclaims you might bring. There are some very good Validation letters here on the sight. If you can't find one, PM me and I will send you the one I used.

I am dealing with them right now. I sent them and the attorney a Validation letter, and they completely ignored it and sued me. I didn't even get the form letter reply back.
