Family member was in Army, discharged, now Army has claimed that he owes them $4,000, since he does not live at our address we have been returning notices to DFAS. Collection Agency now claims the debt is $6,000 and is threatening to take his meager tax refund and garnish his wages. Can he file for bankruptcy to get rid of this?
