Funny MCM...

I have midland credit management (MCM) collecting on one of my old Debts and after I set up payments to them they send me a letter around a week before the post-dated check is due stating when the check is coming out. A fairly normal form letter really. But when is funny to me is the names they use at the 'Signed' part. It was saying 'Danny Thomas' the Supposedly 'Account Manager' that was the name used by the person who would call me with an Indian accent each time another round of checks was due. Recently I complained to the BBB saying that I was having my doubt on rather or not they were collecting the right debt and since my time for Proof of Debt was over they wouldn't send me any proof. It was settled in the end without much problems. The recent letter sent to me now was signed 'cease and detest' which I thought was a funny name for a person. It also proved to me the names used in the letter were made up and stuff. I shouldn't be getting any more calls since as part of the resolve for the letter to the BBB was they wouldn't call me anymore. The only letters I suppose I will get from this point on is ones saying when my next check is coming out. I am wondering when that set of checks are over whats going to happen.

That entire story sounds somewhat fishy to me, have you compared account numbers? I think if I were you I would do some digging and find out as much as I could about this company, and your prior debt they took over.

Its the same account number and everything. As far as the old debt its from an old account which was opened in 2001 was bought out by Citibank in 2002 closed in late 2003 and this CA got it like 1 1/2 years ago (2005). Just thought it was odd also the way the letter was 'signed'.
