Probably a stupid question, but Midland Credit Management called me.

I had asked them to send me verification of the debt owed, they sent me stupid non-verifiable amount. Debt owed AND charged off was $2310.00, They say I owe 3741.63.
But the paper said they would make $50.00 a month payments on their website..
So I mailed them $50 check (which they still have not cashed to this date)
Now they send paper for $50.00 a month with * saying Your credit report will not be updated if federal reporting period has expired. Debt was charged off in 4/2005, how does reporting period work? Can they keep reselling account to other companies?

I filed bankruptcy five years ago but I just recently found out that Midland Credit had put a lien on my real estate property. How do I get this lien removed? I am trying to refinance for a lower interest rate but can't do it as long as there is a lien. How can they put a lien on when they were listed as a creditor in my bankruptcy?
