I am having a problem with midland funding. I received a civil summons with morgan and pottinger out of louisville. they are taking over accounts for midland funding. midland funding had bought out providian/mutual who bought out presidio/cm who bought out providian-anyway I paid the account when it was providian mutual. When I received the summons I notified morgan and pottinger immediately and they said they were representing midland funding-anyway I told them I already paid for it and I would get them the info-in the meanwhile w/in 30 days I got a default judgement-I was waiting to go to court to prove my case. what happened that they can bypass court and send me default papers when I have been contacting them? then I received paper that they were putting a lien on my real estate. When I contacted the town I lived in district court they had no papers on the lien where they had filed in my town-anyway they told me that morgan and pottinger had file paper with citibank in ny for garnishment.please help

Dear Chass,

From my understanding I can say that: -
As you have already paid the debt amount (and I suppose you have all the documents which proves that you have paid it in full), so no one can ask for that money again. I think you should challenge this.

But I am not quite sure about it. I am sure other members must have your answer and may help you better.

Regards,

Phoenix
