I got a very disturbing call at work this morning. Someone called and asked for me, he had the last four of my social and said that there is a lawsuit against me and he needs to know my lawyers information. I said I do not have a lawyer and do not know what this is regarding. He got really nasty and said call this number 408-465-5240 and find out who is suing you and for what. He said read the number back to me and I didnt-I just hung up. He called back and said "did you just hang up in my face" I said never call me at work again. He said get your supervisor on the phone now! I hung up again because I am the office manager and I do not have a supervisor other than the owner of the company and he is not even in the office. This does not sound like a law office-sounds like a nasty debt collector who is violating the laws about calling at work. He called back again (my cell number this time) & left a message that he is Charles Brian from Morgan and Associates with the "law department" NOT that they are a law firm. So I looked them up & found this website-not sure how to handle this because if I call the number he is giving me it goes to his direct line and I cannot get anyone else!

hiya,

the best thing to do is to contact the police and file a report. I even looked up Morgan and Associates website, and this disclaimer was at the very top of the page:
This law firm and the address 144 W. Maple Road, Birmingham Michigan has no affiliation with any person claiming to be involved in the collection of any consumer debt. If you have received any phone call from someone claiming to be affiliated with this firm regarding such matters, please notify your local law enforcement authority and this law firm at spoofing@morganassociatesplc.com
File a report. Also, if I had to guess based on doing some research, the people that called you are trying to collect on a payday loan. if you ever took out a payday loan, that may explain why they are calling. I highly doubt it but in the off chance that they really did sue you, check with your local court clerks office....find out if anyone has a pending suit against you.
