Garnishment from VA on NC wages?

I got a garnishment from a VA court for a credit card debit. I live and work in NC. Can I have this stopped & how?

As far as I know, wage garnishment is not possible in North Carolina. However, the creditor can bring judgment against you to garnish your bank account. Now, if you have already received a judgment, you can file a motion to vacate the judgment within 30 days of receipt of the judgment. However, whether the motion will be accepted or not depends on the court.

I have found that if a court in another state issues a garnishment decree, it is allowed against NC wages. Just can't get one thru NC courts. So I'm going to file bankruptcy.
