Hello, I received a letter from NCA Saturday in the mail. They state they have purchasd my Cashnet USA account. I had thought I had payment arrangements in place with Cashnet for the end of this month but guess they decided not to wait.

I will be sending NCA a debt validation letter tommorow but I have a question. Since the letter states they bought the debt what is my legal obligation to NCA ? Can they add interest or late fees ?

Thanks,

Here is the thing: First we need to get the CashNet thingy straight. So is it JUST CashNet or is it CashNetUSA?

NCA usually works for illegal lenders so my deduction would be that this is either a scam or you took a loan from CashNet.

If this is actually a CashNetUSA account, you need to send out that DV and in the meantime call CashNetUSA and verify if your loan has been handed into collections (unlikely because CashNetUSA does most of their collecting inhouse).

You did a payment arrangement with the cash Net USA, right? If yes, then they are less likely to sell your account to NCA. Did you make payments as per the agreed terms and conditions? The first thing which you need to do is contact Cashnet USA and find out what is happening.

It is with Cashnet USA. The payments were to start on a Friday with $100 being placed onto a secured credit card biweekly over the next 2 months. I sent them an email on the Sunday before to verify the payment and they responded it was placed with NCA. Now, I have gotten the dunning letter from NCA but no phones calls which sounds odd when I google them & see their reputation.

I had an account with CashnetUSA that was behind in payment. I emailed them on Sunday to let them know the arrangements we had in place of $100 biweekly payments on a prepaid Mastercard was done & to give them the Mastercard #. They responded the account was placed with NCA. They refuse to discuss the account with me.
