I had a collection agency call me. I called them back and they informed me who they were collecting for and what I owed them. However, I never received anything in the mail from this company. They wanted to set up payment plans over the phone and wanted my account information. I told them I did not feel comfortable doing so and I would only set up payment arrangements if I received a debt validation or initial dun letter in the mail showing what I owe and to who I owe it to and why? This was on October 8th and I still have not received anything from this company, NCC Business Services. I know that they have to send a letter within 5 days of inital contact. If they do not do that then how do I proceed? Thanks for any and all help?

The collection agency is NCC business services. They said they were collecting for a past due balance of $250.00 that I had when I moved out of my last apartment. A fee the complex charges for moving out before your lease is up.

Thank you. I will contact the complex. Just another question tho. If they do not provide a letter after initial contact can they keep calling me? And, can they send information to the credit bureaus if they have not provided me with a debt validation letter? I'm not disputing the debt but I do want to make sure I have documentation for my records and that this CA is in fact legit.

they are required to send a dunning letter within 5 days of initial contact.if they don't.you shouldn't talk to them again.send a DV letter.send it certified mail return receipt.now if they were hired by the complex they can report it on your CR,but if the complex accepts your payment, and lets the CA know this, and they continue to report or call.then you can take legal action if you choose to.
