How should I negotiate with a this CA??? HELP!!

I have a CA company on my credit report, and I owe this money so I wanted to settle the account for less of what the balance is. It’s a $2,200.00 balance and the company who is SST/COLUMBUS and TRS/CIGPF1 said they do not settle account below $2,500.00, and they could only offer me a settlement of $1,800.00 does that seem high to you??? I think it is!!! Is there anything else I can try to get it lower??? Thanks.

Do u know what it is waht u want to settle for? Can u send them a letter stating what ur willing to settle for (make it a little lower) and tell them u have other creditors that ur trying to settle with and have only a limited amt of money and whoever works with u first will get paid first! Not sure this will work but may be worth a try?? I mean i guess all that can happen is they say no.
