I also forgot to say before, there was no signed agreement. I agreed to send them $50 a month when I spoke to someone on the phone.

Well if they do not have a judgment against you from the court then they can not seize your assets. That is bull tactics that they play into scaring you. If the letter does state that then you can do one of a few things. Stop paying them all together. Keep paying them $50 a month or the best option, call an attorney and sue them for violating the fdcpa 15 usc 1692e (4).

How much did you owe?
How long have you been paying?
How much do they say you owe now?
Stop all payments until you get an agreement in writing, they say you broke the agreement you say you didn't. You made the payment on the 15th and it was due the 10th. You say the agreement said you had until the 15th before it was considered late, they say no. Nobody is going to win this arguement.
DV them, get a full accounting of the money paid and a written agreement.

I owe now a little over a thousand. I have been paying them since May every month. Thanks for all the suggestions. My payment reached them 2 days late and now they say I'm not cooperating and that they will see how much I have. Thanks by the way on that fdcpa, I have been looking for that.
