If I've already started payments?

Jeez, I wish I had known about validation letters and all that before I started dealing with Nelson, Watson & Associates and Capital One.
I have a question:
I have already been making payments through them for a Capital One account (the threats, the lawsuit thing, etc, scared my wife and I just kind of caved, even though I can barely afford it), and I'm wondering if I can still send the validation letter even if I've already started making payments to them?
