Why is CollectCorp. silent????

So I received copies of a bunch of statements from them when I requested their bond number for NJ and proof they owned the debt. (back in June 2010). I called them and (I am ashamed to say) got pressured into a settlement I couldn't afford. They faxed me the settlement letter. They had my bank account info (I know, I know - stupid, stupid me - been under a lot of family stress). Well, the next day I faxed them a recision letter of the settlement and also sent by certified mail, RRR. Two days later they called me at home again ( I had told the collector to use my cell because my husband is disabled) and he said I had to make the payment that night. I told him I recinded the settlement. He was livid.
The next day the money was withdrawn from my account. So I had to get the bank involved because now my account was overdrawn. A few days later they tried it again, but this time it was blocked. I finally closed the account.
I have heard NOTHING from them since! and since this is a sizeable debt ($13,000) I am worried.......
Can anyone tell me what to expect next? I offered in my recision letter to settle for $4000.
Because I did such a dumb thing, you should vacate my "Debt Samaritan" title.:x:(

I can't comment on CA but one so called "dumb" mistake does not take away from all you have accomplished so far. These Ca can be relentless.

Bank of America (used to be MBNA). I was with them since 1999.
