am so glad that i've found this site. i already got a letter from a collection agency laywer stating that a lawsuit will be filed because of nonpayment of my medical bills.does this mean that i dont have a chance to make arrangements? my debt are so above my head that iam lost. please advise .thanks

Absolutely, I can tell you firsthand that the costs of litigation are extremely high that they would rather be willing to deal with you on a payment plan than go to court. That frees up the attorney's time, the CA's time and the client's time. Call them and see if they're willing to strike some form of a settlement deal on this.
