Northland group

I just got off the phone with Northland group, and by far they are the nicest CA I have ever dealt with. Their offer is outstanding saving me $11,000. So I plan on trying to work with them. Cross fingers for a big tax return.

Now, on the flip side Ascension Serivces, is an awful group of people. who continues to harrass me, my neighbors, and relatives. All for a debt they have yet to verify and ignore the do not call certified letter they signed for.

SO I plan on fighting just becase they are jerks. They have broken the law multiple times and lied about leins, garnishments and jail. My question is what should I do? or how do I file a complaint or law suit or how can I injure them the quickest?


I just got called/ harrassed again, by Ascension and they said they filed suit 3/18 funny because that is 30 days from the day they signed for the DV. I have yet to be served how can I find out if they did indeed file suit? This debt is still pretty new only 10 months from the last payment. If they did file suit what do I do to prepare?

Yes I am sure that there are some not so good people working there. But the debt I had was for an old credit card (not past or even near the SOL) I knew I owed it but just couldn't pay it. I owed them over $2000. I was paying them $50 a month for 6 months then they offered a settlement for 3 payments of $115. I jumped at the offer. I got my letter saying that the account has been satisfied. This was done last year. So who knows maybe they changed or I just got lucky.

If they did file then you should check with the clerk of courts. They will be able to tell you if there really is one. But if they didn't file then you need to report them. They cannot use that threat to get you to pay unless they intend to file.

hey puddle, i just wanted the OP, to go through posts where member's experience had not been so good with Northland. It has nothing to do with your dealings with them :) I also feel they are a bit easier to deal with than other CA's.

Thanks for the warning on Northland I still think if I can make it happen I am going to try, I may call next week and see if they will take a bit less. But my bigger problem is Ascension Services. I did call the court and they have nothing on file for me or my husband but according to the CA they filed only last Monday (3/18). From what I have read here it sounds like CA 's try to sit on the acutal serving. How or what do I do to report them for this threat? And will these threats and the other violations they have made make a difference if they do file suit. I am no where near the SOL. What about an offer at this point? Is that what they are trying to do? Should I call the OC and try with them? Or should I send a letter to this rotten CA with an offer? I am making an effort but when ASI has called they make no effort to make a deal just name call and harrass.
