I had a capitol One credit card that was charged off on my credit report I then started receiving letters from Northland group for settlement offers. I am currently trying to file bankruptcy and have not received any letter or calls from capital one or northland for about a year. Do you know how I would claim this debt on my bankruptcy? I am not sure if northland is still the collector so I do not know how to put it in for the bankruptcy. The last time northland looked at my credit report was in 2011. Please help I am not sure which way to turn or how to find out.

I dont have a bankruptcy lawyer cant afford it due to health costs. I am going thru a paralegal and all he does is put together the info. I give him for the courts. I have to do the rest. He just gave me the paperwork to fill out about debt and collectors. I am sorry to have bothered you i just saw the forum and thought you might be able to help.
