Define bad checks.....Bad checks as in payday loan? or bad check as in overdrawn on checking account. You wrote a check to a merchant and it bounced?

If your check was returned due to NSF. The company may send you a return check notice with the outstanding balance. They may even call.

what state do you live in? how were these checks written to (stores, etc.) and how much were they for?

Also don't forget, some stores will push it through a second time before sending a notice/and or call.

i agree, i found that most stores do push it through at least twice before notifying you at all.

I live in Indiana, some were pushed through again and went through and some did not get pushed through again and go returned. Ashamed as hell, but some are from last year and I can not remember what stores they were for.....

how much were they for? do you know your state's laws concerning bad checks?

The debt could have been reported on your Credit Bureau report if that much time lapsed. You need to get a copy of your report ASAP to verify.

What state are you in so we can look up your laws on this.
