Garnishment

My rent payment came out of my checking account on Friday. I didnt know it but apparently from an old debt my wages got garnished. At the time I told the bank there must be a mistake, but now I realize the mistake is mine. They went ahead and paid my rent check and put on NSF fees. Apparently the garnishment was from before I went to texas and i did not move back to the same area. So I had no idea.
The bank is never going to believe me. What does anyone suggest.

Do you have a copy of the court decision authorizing the garnishment? You are entitled to one if not--and I would definately ask for it. You need to know what you're looking at.
