How long does it take for a credit card company to get a judgment against you in the state of New York? I have a Discover card I haven't been able made to make payment on since March. I don't have the money to make the payments and I 'm trying to save money to file bankruptcy. Thanks.

The company would wait for around 180 days before charging it off. You may receive collection calls from the creditor during this period. After 180 days, the account may get sold to a collection agency, which would then proceed with the collection activities.
Normally, creditors don't jump into filing lawsuits against customers since its a lengthy and expensive process. Winning a judgement also not always guarantee its successful collection.
You can always try to settle the account during this period and stop them from taking legal action against you.
