Couple of questions about two different things.

I had a couple of questions. First one being I sent a DV letter to a company on May 5th. I have not heard anything back from them as of yet. How long does it usually take to get a response if they even do respond?
My next question is I have been making regular payments on a debt since January to a certain collection agency with no problems. Last month I get a letter from Allied offering me a settlement on this, which of course I can't do.
I called the agency I had been paying and they told me that the OC had pulled it out of their agency because the full amount was not being collected fast enough. I had to call the OC. I called the OC and I get it all straightened out.
The OC said that I can make my payments directly to them, but I need to send a letter to the new CA letting them know I am going to do this. I am just wondering if I am going to get a hassle from the new CA if I make the rest of the payments to the OC. I trust the OC before I trust most CA's. Is there a appropriate letter to send them, or do I just say this is the way it is going to be. Thank you.

There is no time limit for them to respond, as long as they do not perform any collection activity. Even if they sue, you can get it thrown out because a suit *is* a collection activity.
First get an arrangement letter from the OC. When you get the letter, send a copy of it with a Cease & Desist letter to the CA.
I trust that you send that DV Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested. If not, send it again.
