What do you do next when collection agency returns your file to original creditor?

Thanks. But the collection agency didn't provide me the address and phone but just a company name. The original date on the invoice was 5 years ago and I believe I paid in full with a credit card. However, I no longer have that credit card and don't have a record of my payment since it's been so long. How does this affect my credit? Last years credit report, I was over 800 and I just don't want that affected.

I din't know CA's DO give accounts back to the OC. Why would they do that? I thought with 'old' debt, that the OC 'sell' accounts to the CA's.
